Land O Lakes Little League (LOLLL) was able to complete a successful, fun, and safe Fall 2020 Season in spite of the Coronavirus Pandemic. We did so by partnering with families like yours to utilize various social distancing guidelines and by abiding by the heath and safety recommendations set forth by Little League International, our respective state/local governments, and relevant health officials in terms of public gatherings, organized youth sports, and sporting events intended to help us safely operate our league. We plan to follow a similar approach for the Spring 2021 Season.
Spring 2021 COVID Statement
Land O' Lakes Little League follows Little League International recommendation to follow CDC guidelines as well as the Pasco County Athletic Field Use COVID Policy – “League using fields will adhere to CDC guidelines Recommendation”: which is dictated by the CDC Considerations for Youth Sports (www.cdc.gov updated 12-31-20) which states “Youth sports organizations may consider implementing several strategies to encourage behaviors that reduce the spread of COVID-19."
*Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting on test results, are showing COVID-19 symptoms, or have had a close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19. (See Quarantine Guidelines Below)
*Bring your own equipment, like gloves, head gear, helmets, water bottles, and bats, if possible, to limit shared equipment.
*Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other players when possible.
*Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others. (See Face Masks Notes Below)
*Clean or sanitize your hands before and after practices, games, and sharing equipment.
*Tell a coach or staff member if you don’t feel well.
*Face Mask Notes:
**Note 1: Visitors should consider wearing a mask to protect themselves and others. Players are required to wear a mask in situations where they cannot socially distant (for example: in the dugout). Players are not required to wear a mask when on the field.)
**Note 2: Pasco Mask Medical Exemption: "If you have a medical issue that prevents you from wearing a face covering, you are not required to wear one.")
*Quarantine Guidelines:
a. Covid-19 Positive Quarantine: Anyone with COVID-19 positive testing or symptoms should not attend any Little League activity for a minimum of 10 days. The quarantine can end at 10 days if there are no symptoms but the person should monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days. No testing is required to end a 10-day quarantine. The quarantine can end after 7 days if a negative test result is provided (test must occur on day 5 or later post contact)
b. Covid-19 Close Contact Quarantine: People who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 should quarantine for 10-14 days post contact. The quarantine can end at 10 days if there are no symptoms but the person should monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days. No testing is required to end a 10-day quarantine. The quarantine can end after 7 days if a negative test result is provided (test must occur on day 5 or later post contact)
c. Land O Lakes Little League will rely on parents to quarantine their children based on the policy.
Other Covid-19 Policies:
*TEMP CHECKS: unlike in the Fall, LOLLL will NOT be checking temperatures for anyone prior to entry to the park.
*DRINKS: All players must have their own drinks and we recommend that drinks not be shared. We also recommend that drinks be labeled with players name.
*TEAM SNACKS: at this time we are still discouraging "team snacks."
*SANITIZERS: The league will try to hand sanitizer will be provided in the dugouts, but we encourage you to bring your own. The league will also plan to sanitize the dugouts between games.
*HANDSHAKES: at this time we are recommending that players and teams NOT handshakes, fist bumps or high fives after games.
